Little administrative update
currently at: Thunderbolt, GA current date: 17 May 2005 Well, the bad news is that I have no idea how to make emailed posts not show the html code. The good news is that I now have net access, so I can manually fix the old ones and post the new ones via the web interface. The bad news is that it's really really slow net access and I'm not sure I have the patience! The transition from Bahamas to US must have seemed rather abrupt, because one of my posts never showed up. I've reposted it and backdated it, so you can find it if you scroll down, or see it here: Middle Bight, Andros Our email is back to ordinary internet email, so you no longer have to register with the winlink site to send us email. We are working through all the mail that piled up and didn't forward to our radio email, so if you sent us email a while ago and never heard back, we will hopefully soon have a reply your way. If you would like to send us email - please do! Or comment to our blog - but you'll have to leave your email address if you want a reply. We'll be sightseeing Savannah tomorrow, then heading north again; the yards here turned out to be a little pricy for us, but we have a line on one near Myrtle Beach. Details to follow!

I just wanted to introduce myself I have started reading all of your past logs starting at the beginning. My name is Jim Holtzinger currently single plan to marry with in the year, retire, and head south from Saugatuck, Michigan. I am currently teaching school in Mishawaka, IN. I am going to teach one more year. I just passed by Coast Guard Captains license, updated it to a Master and passed my radio permit test. I have been sailing some 30 years the last 18 years in a 45' Gulfstar sloop. This summer I am going to try and do some charter sailing out of Saugatuck. Your logs caught my attention because of Ithaka's link which I have followed from day one. I have to make many of the same improvements to my boat that you have done. You two are also educating me on how to cruise and I want to thank-you for all of your efforts in posting the logs that you do. It shows that you put a lot of effort into them. This blogger is also new to me. It's my bed time I wish I was on my boat now. Goodnight! Jim
If in a major American city, why not take the laptop and walk around until you can poach on an unencrypted wi-fi network? You can get your work done a lot faster. My favorite similar story was being able to climb on the adjacent hotel's network, when my hotel wanted 9.95 a day.
